HAGGAI MBEWE – BIOGRAPHY Haggai Mbewe is a singer, songwriter, music producer, worship leader, trained pastor, and audiovisual specialist, born on July 2, 1981. His journey in music began at a very young age, where he would bang on doors and household surfaces to create rhythms—hinting at the musical calling that God had placed in his life long before he understood it. Haggai recorded his first album in 2009, but his songwriting and recording experience dates back to the early 1990s. Over the years, he has written and composed more than 500 songs, both for himself and for various choirs and artists across different nations. Some of the groups and solo artists he has worked with include Climbing Bells Choir (Zambia), Sword of Africa (Zambia), Wings of Africa (Zambia), the renowned gospel artist Masck (Malawi), among many others across the globe. His first produced album was titled Mulasangwa, a word from one of the languages spoken in the northern part of Zambia, meaning “You are Found.” This was followed by his album Yesu Kristu (Jesus Christ) in 2014, and additional album projects in 2016 and 2019. Through every musical project, Haggai has remained grounded in his purpose—to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music and to reach souls worldwide. The journey has not been without challenges, but Haggai continues to stand firm in his calling. His ministry is anchored in the belief that music is a divine tool that heals, restores, and draws hearts closer to God. For him, music is not just art—it is a mission, a message, and a lifelong assignment.
